Isle au Haut...if you know, you know. Duck Harbor Campground offers the perfect setup. The endless blueberries and raspberries were a nice bonus.

This is a one-of-a-kind campground. Everything is well maintained, and the natural beauty cant be beat. Walking along the cliffs is a great way to beat the bugs and explore all the island has to offer!

The water source is a rustic pump and a bit of walk but delicious

The rangers were great! The shelters and outhouses exceeded expectation - wonderfully maintained. Such a great to be able to stay at Duck Harbor.

We had a fabulous time in the most beautiful place. We felt so lucky to be able to stay at Duck Harbor and enjoy the trails. The shelters are quite a luxury and the composting toilets, quite impressively, do not smell at all. Lovely place and well cared for. The rangers were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful well-kept campground with clean composting toilets, well-maintained shelters, and a reliable water pump. The ranger who met us at the dock upon arrival was super welcoming, helpful, and showed us to our campsite while telling us about the edible wild berries we passed! The mailboat ride to the campground is stunning and one of the best parts of the experience. We were grateful for the added shelter over our tent since there was some off-and-on mist during our stay. Also, the mosquitos are vicious so plan accordingly if coming mid August!

Loved this experience. Going back next year. Amazing to be able to go to sleep watching the sun set over the Atlantic and then wake with the birds. We didn't set up our tent, and I won't bring it next time (we sprayed the lean-to bottom with bug spray, and would recommend that, plus a citron candle). Pick the wild blueberries/raspberries for the oatmeal or pancakes in the morning. Make sure you pay attention when the rangers tell you where the water and firewood is. Lots of trails to hike. Book early!

Amazing location! Rangers were very nice and answered any questions I had. I hope I get the opportunity to return next year.

Definitely worth the stay over on the island to get some wonderful hiking . In August, definitely have a plan as evening brought the mosquitos. Pack and plan well. Some visitors seemed less well prepared.

Duck Harbor Campground on Isle au Haut is an incredible place to camp. My family of four spent 3 nights on the island and loved every second. Unfortunately our tent would not fit in the shelter, so we just put our pads and sleeping bags on the floor and slept 'under the stars'. We packed very lightly because we knew that we would need to carry our supplies. However, we watched people bring several wagons full of supplies to the island. The walk to the campsites is not that far. I would recommend a solar shower. After 3 nights I was desperate for a shower. The walk to water is long, bring more empty water containers than you think you will need. Our family made the trek into town. It was a 2hr+ walk (our daughters were 6 and 9 when we were there). A kind family from the island drove us back to the campground - our daughters were thrilled! The Maine Lobster Lady (food truck) is NOT open on Mondays. My husband was devastated when we completed our 2hr walk and he couldn't get a lobster roll. The small church is always open and is idyllic. We picked blueberries and raspberries, hiked as many trails as we could, made smores, and enjoyed every second of our time on Isle au Haut. I would encourage every camper to spend 3 nights on Isle au Haut. We would have stayed all summer if we could have!
